Sabiji resident in court for burglary

A Latrikunda Sabiji resident, Omar Sonko, was recently arraigned before Magistrate Ibrahim Kijera of the Bundung Magistrates’ Court, charged with housebreaking and stealing.

According to the particulars of offence on count one, the accused, Omar Sonko, on 20 May 2013, at Bijilo village, Kombo North, West Coast Region, broke and entered into the dwelling house of one Sainey Suso.

Omar Sonko was further accused on the same date and place of stealing the following items: logger valued at D400, a spade valued at D150, curtain valued at D150, three T-shirts valued at D150, DVD cassette valued at D60, and D2,500 cash, which he usedto purchase a mattress.

He denied the charges and was subsequently granted bail of D10,000 with one Gambian surety with a Gambian national ID card.

The case continues.
