One
Muhammed Latiff was recently arraigned before Magistrate Hilary Abeke of the
Brikama Magistrates’ Court, charged with robbery.
According to the particulars of the offence, the accused, Muhammed Latiff, on 19 November 2015 at Lamin Village and diverse places in the Kombo North District of the West Coast Region, attempted to rob one Muhammed Diko of Lamin village and also threatened him with a knife.
He denied any wrongdoing.
At that juncture, the police prosecutor, Sub-inspector Pal Jammeh, applied for the matter to be transferred to the Special Criminal Court, as the alleged offence was a capital offence.
His application was granted and the matter was transferred to the Special Criminal Court, and the court ordered that the accused person be remanded at the State Central Prisons, pending the hearing of the matter at the Special Criminal Court.
