The communities of Barrow Kunda and Gunjur Kunta in Wuli West District of Upper River Region recently embarked on a road rehabilitation exercise.
The voluntary work, spearheaded by the village development committee of Barrow Kunda, lasted for 2 days.
The workers use heavy stones and gravel to fix the road that used to halt the movement of goods and vehicles due to its poor condition.
The site the volunteers fixed was located in the outskirts of Barrow Kunda was said to be in very deplorable condition.
Speaking to The Point, shortly after the exercise, Alkaly Kebbeh the Sara Ngai Ward Councillor and a resident of Barrow Kunda, thanked all those who took part in the two-day exercise.
He said fixing of the road would ease the movement of goods and services in the area.
It would be recalled that over the years the people of Wuli East and West have been grabbling with poor rood condition and of recent communities are venturing in self help road fixing since there was no fruitful intervention.
