RLG FC on 12 November 2013 beat Pencha Bi FC 5-4 on post-match penalty shootout, following a 1-all draw on regular time, to book their place in the semifinal stage of the ongoing Serrekunda West Sports Organisation (SWESO) Nawetan competition.
Skipper Muhammed Fayinkeh gave Pencha Bi FC the lead in the 49th minute of the game from a brilliant out-footed shot just at the edge of the eighteen-yard box.
When it seemed Pencha Bi FC were heading for victory, goalkeeper Abdoulie Gaye gave RLG FC a cheap goal by allowing Almamy Ceesay’s 63rd-minute free-kick to slip easily from his hands and entered the net, thus the game ended 1-1 resulting into penalty kicks which ended 5-4 in favour of RLG FC.
RLG have now joined Kanifing United, who earlier qualified, to the semifinals after beating Happapa FC 3-1 in the quarterfinals encounter played at the West Park.
