Music in The Gambia is getting more advanced, with young musicians making records in the music scene. Essa N Colley alias E N C is busy putting the finishing touches in the studio to make a record.
The young talented musician born from Brikama in the Western Region of The Gambia said he started practicing music since completing his senior school education.
In a chat with Entertainment on Wednesday at his residence in Brikama, Essa Colley added that music is an emotional feeling since he was young. The upcoming music star went further to reveal that he has been in the industry for 6 years now, adding that he did not release any album yet.
“I am trying to work on international links. The rising musician told Entertainment he has 25 songs out of which 10 are out for promotion on radio stations in the country. I am not only an artiste, but also a club DJ as well as a presenter at West Coast radio with a program called Back Stage which is geared towards promoting Gambian music.
He said the music industry in The Gambia is like a new-born baby ready to be nurtured, “and we are trying to do our best to take it to the next level”. He noted that for the artistes to play quality music, they need more support such as TV promotions and good producers.
“I and my crew the Ghetto Revolution are working very hard to take the music to the next level”. He therefore called on sponsors to come to his aid for him to release amix tape that he is working on.
