Following its dormancy over the years due to the overseas travelling of majority of its members, the current members of the Association of Youth in the Media are working towards revising the association.
The general public is hereby informed that the Association of Youths in the Media (AYM) is now being revived, states a press release issued by its members.
The AYM, founded in 2001 by young media practitioners from various media houses, was meant to promote media development among the youths.
The AYM was registered with the National Youth Council and was partner to most youth organisations in the country. It was also affiliated to The Gambia Press Union, the release said.
As part of efforts of its revival, an interim committee, comprising Sanna Camara, Gibril Jassey, Lamin Njie and Sainabou Kujabi-Njie, has been constituted to re-organise and set the pace for the election of a new executive committee for the AYM.
The interim committee is expected to serve for six months and the news is also extended to all stakeholders, it concludes.
