The championship brought together six regions and saw a brilliant exhibition of skills and panache by athletes from various regions. It attracted spectators from Serrekunda and environs.
Region two was seconded by region four with 226 points, region one came third with 206 points, region three fourth with 193 points, region six fifth with 172 points, region five finished sixth with 84 points.
Region two received a giant trophy and Gambia flag as the champions; region four and one receive trophies as the first and second runners-up.
The annual championship was organized by the Gambia Lower Basic School athletics association in collaboration with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
