Red boys drew 1-1 with Solar Enterprise in their final group match to finish
top spot in group D with 5 points in three group outings.
They
defeated arch-rivals Solifo Investment FC on penalties after the regular time
ended 1-1 in the quarterfinal to progress to the semifinal before beating
defending league, knock-out and super cup champions The Pub FC 1-0 in the
semifinal to sail the league final.
Red
Star Family FC, who are unbeaten in the Gunjur nawettan league this season,
will skirmish to batter Smateq FC in the final to claim the cup after several
years of trophy drought.
Meanwhile,
Smateq FC began their road to the 2019-2020 Gunjur nawettan league final with a
slender 2-1 win over Ecomog FC before slipping to Senior Players 2-1 in their
second group encounter.
The
Gunjur Fabaida based-team beats Black Panthers FC 1-0 in their third group tie
to bounce back in the nawettan league before drawing goalless with Asselem FC
in their final group tie to finish first in group A with 7 points in four group
games.
They
beat Sanchaba FC 1-0 in the quarterfinal to navigate to the semifinal before
defeating Kombo Real Estate FC on the same scoreline in the semifinal to
progress to the final for the first time in their history.
Smateq
FC will prepare fit enough to bang Red Star Family FC in the final to lift
their first-ever trophy in Gunjur nawettan since making their debut in the
town’s wet season biggest football festivity some years ago.
