Red Scorpions Football Club in the GFA first division women’s league have extended their superb run of form with another impressive 4-1 thrashing of title contenders Interior, at the Father Gough Sports complex in Manjai on Saturday.
The win means they are still leading the five-club National Women’s League table with 16 points, with only a game played in the second round.
The former GFA National Women’s League winners entered into the second round with two-point advantage at the summit of the table with 13 points before restarting the campaign in a fine form as they set their sights on winning their first league title in five years.
Their latest win has raised their number of points to 16 with 4 games remaining en route to the championship glory.
Interior are the current occupant of second place with 14 points.
They also began the second round with a deserved 2-nil win at the expense of Armed Forces at the Box Bar Mini-stadium in Brikama at the weekend, while Abuko United entertained Company Ten to a humiliating 3-nil win at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium the same weekend.
