City boys Real De Banjul have moved to the top of the 2011-2012 Gambia Football Association GFA 1st Division league table after their 1-0 victory over Bakau United in the Week 16 fixtures played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The game was not an easy road to cross but both sides made astonishing start to it launching series of assaults at each other’s goal mouth.

Real De Banjul opened the score through prolific striker Buba Jallow, alias Melez, in the 55th minute of the stunning strike to give his side the lead, which eventually proved to be the winner for Real De Banjul.

Bakau United, who are currently struggling in the league, fought back for an equalizer but could not level the score, thus the game ended 1-0 in favour of Real De Banjul.

Elsewhere, Samger were held to a goalless draw by Young Africans in the other Week 16 fixtures played at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium on the same day.

Real De Banjul are now leading the table with 25 points in sixteen games, while Samger have collected 23 points in sixteen games. Young Africans have collected 20 points in sixteen games, while Bakau United have collected 19 points in sixteen games.
