De Banjul on Wednesday thumped Bakau giant killers Steve Biko 2-0 in the
week-six fixtures played at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium to overtake Gambia
Armed Forces in the 2016-2017 Gambia Football Federation domestic division one
league.
The
city boys are second spot in the top flight with 9 points in four league
matches before their Wednesday’s 2-0 win over Bakau giant killers to top the
league after Gambia Armed Forces goalless draw against Brikama United at the
Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.
Centre-back
Mbaye Faye gave Real De Banjul the lead in the 85th minute of the game before
striker Alasana Jatta sealed victory in the dying minute of the game to inspire
the city boys to top spot in the country’s top flight.
Elsewhere,
defending league champions Gambia Ports Authority missed the chance to close on
league leaders Real De Banjul after their goalless draw against the
newly-promoted side Marimoo at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai kunda.
