Real
de Banjul have collected their first maximum points after defeating the
petroleum boys
Fortune
FC 2-0 in the week-two fixtures of the GFF First Division League played at the
Banjul KG5 mini-stadium on Friday.
The
last year’s FA cup winners opened the scoreline through Muhammadu Lamin Jamba
Kujabi in the 36 minutes of the first half.
The
petroleum boys tried to restore parity, with the combination of Lamin Chatty
and Bully Drammeh in the midfield, but Real de Banjul were very steady in the
defense. Kajally Drammeh added the second goal for Real just two minutes into
the second half with fine finished, a beautiful cross from Alagie Jawara in the
47 minutes of the second half.
The
Banjul-based side Real opened their league campaign with a draw against The
Gambia Armed Forces (GAF), while Fortune also drew against the newly promoted
side Elite United formerly Sporting Real.
This
win has now made Real de Banjul collect 4 points after two games, while Fortune
still has one point after two games.
The
GFF Super Cup winners Real de Banjul will now travel to Brikama to renew their
rivalry against Brikama United on Sunday 22nd December.
Fortune
on the other side will play against Marimoo on Saturday 21st December.
