The champions will go to camp today to continue their technical preparations ahead of the crunch tie, with the return leg due to be play in a fortnight’s time.
Their Liberian counterparts are expected in Banjul tomorrow Wednesday 11th February 2014 for the encounter.
Gambia’s representatives at the CAF Champions League qualifiers, Real de Banjul FC, have set their sights on going past the stage they were eliminated at in last year’s competition.
Speaking at a media briefing held at the Oasis Building along the Senegambia Highway last week, club president Willy Abraham said their aim is to take a step further in the competition after being eliminated in the prelimilaries in their previous attempt.
They are fully prepared for the game, he went on, and that all arrangements are in place.
“We are a serious football club, especially when it comes to representing The Gambia in international competitions,” Abraham said, adding that they want to make the nation happy by qualifying to the next stage of the competition.
Tickets for the game are pegged at D150 for VIP, D50 for sitting, D25 for the stands while school children in uniform would be allowed free entry and, therefore, Abraham called on all to come out and rally behind the team as they are representing The Gambia and not Real de Banjul as a club.
He also thanked the Gambia Football Federation, GFF, for providing the necessary information and support.
