Real de Banjul on Tuesday defeated Gamtel 2-1 in the rescheduled week two fixtures played at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium, to top the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) division one league.
Gamtel were leading the league table prior the game with Real, which was second in the league table.
Real were able to snatch the vital three points, after their hard fought win over the telecoms giants to climb on top with 11 points in five games.
Gamtel are now in second place in the league table with 10 points in five games, and just one point behind Real.
They will have to win their upcoming fixtures in order to regain the top spot.
Elsewhere, the newly-promoted Bombada beat Bakau United 1-0 at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium on the same day, to move away from the red zone and avoid relegation to the second tier.
The defeat was Bakau United’s third consecutive defeat in a row, after losing to Wallidan and Brikama United in their two previous outings.
