Real De Banjul, Head Coach Pa Samba Mbenga whose team endured a disappointing 2-nil lost to Bakau giants Steve Biko in the opening fixtures of yet another scintillating premier tier football at the Serrekunda West Min-stadium on Sunday admitted poor finishing, as well as some defensive lapses resulting in his side's defeat to Biko.
"I fell very sad and disappointed for the outcome of my opener, considering the performances the boys put in place to ensure that we collect all the needed points," the disappointed Banjul Club Coach told the media in this interview shortly after the match.
Pa Samba Mbenga who was appointed as Real's Coach following the dismissal of former Coach Badou Jassey admitted that he was disappointed to watch his team conceded a two-nil defeat against Biko that were missing several key players, who reportedly left the country for trials.
"I am very sad and disappointed to blow away a great chance of registering my first victory of the campaign due to lack of concentration at the back, as well as some numerous chances squandered by the strikers unlike our opponent who took best use of two superb scoring opportunities to run home with all the maximum points,? he told reporters.
He was however bold enough to add that enough preparation was given to the players unlike last season when they entered the season without a proper preparation.
Pa Samba Mbenga promised to continue working hard with the players at his disposal in order to strengthen the weak department so as to put in a respectable performance ahead of upcoming league matches.
Real only managed a single point out of possible 12 points last season.
On what plans are put in place to avoid similar embarrassment, Mbenga responded by saying that such a scenario would be avoided.
