Wellingara and Lions of Banjul have secured victories in the opening fixtures
of the 2016-2017 Gambia Football Federation second division league.
The
Wellingara-based outfit beat Bakau United 1-0 at the Independence Stadium in
Bakau on Friday.
The
Banjul-based outfit also beat Blue Star FC by the same score line at the Banjul
KG5 Mini Stadium on the same day.
Relegated
side Banjul United came from one nil down to draw 1-1 with newly-promoted side
Fortune FC at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.
Relegated
side Wallidan FC also drew goalless with Interior at the Serrekunda East Mini
Stadium.
Elsewhere,
Brufut United also drew goalless with Young Africans at the Brikama Box Bar
Mini Stadium.
