Prosecution witness testifies in court

Malick Kah, a resident of Batokunku Village recently testified before the Brikama Magistrates' Court in the trial of one Modou Sowe, who is alleged, of stealing.

In his testimony before Magistrate Baboucarr Secka, the witness told the court that he recognised the accused person and could recall on 22nd March 2010.

According to the prosecution witness, he spent the night in a friend's compound, by the name Mamie Ebrima Mendy in Brikama, when two people came and held his neck, as others took his travelling bag away containing D4, 000 and a Holy Quran.

He testified that he shouted for help and his friend, Ebrima Mendy came and arrested the accused, while others escaped and ran away.

Further testifying, the prosecution witness told the court that the accused was taken to Brikama Police Station where he made a statement.

The case was then adjourned to 5th July 2010 for continuation.
