Gambia Ports Authority footballer Hamza Barry is reported to have joined Valletta FC in Malta’s premier league this month.
Barry, who has already made his debut for the side during the Euro Challenge Cup, has so far played two matches.
According to club’s statement, the 19-year-old midfielder left local club Gambia Ports Authority to join Southern European club in the 2013 summer transfer window after representing Gambia in its 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Ivory Coast and Morocco respectively.
Barry has been an instrumental figure in The Gambia’s youth teams having represented the country in both U-17 and 20 levels.
He made his debut for the senior national team in June 2012 in a 1-1 draw with Morocco at home and in the same month he was presented with his second cap in The Gambia’s 2-1 away defeat to Tanzania.
Hamza joined Valletta FC in July 2013 and made his debut during the Euro Challenge Cup.
