Ports defeat Wallidan in Senior Cricket League

The men’s senior cricket league has seen the derby match between Wallidan Cricket Club and Gambia Ports Authority Cricket Club end in favour of Gambia Ports Authority.

Gambia Ports Authority won close by 8 runs in last weekend’s clash at the 22nd July Square.

Wallidan won the toss and elected to field and was able to stop Gambia Ports Authority at 177 runs for 3 wickets in 20 overs game played.

In a partnership of 100 with Joseph Badjan, Aniru Conteh scored 77runs out of 32 balls played with 3 sixes and 7 fours made out of his bat. Joseph Badjan the second highest scored 29 runs out of 19 balls played.

Aniru Conteh bowled and took 2 wickets for 24 runs in 2 overs bowled.

Coaching Clinic for Security Officers

A two-day cricket coaching clinic was organised for Security officers last month at the 22nd July Square in Banjul in which 60 security officers from the Gambia Fire Services and the Prison Service participated.

This two-day coaching clinic dealt with bowling, batting, fielding and wicket keeping. The essence of the coaching clinic is to get these security officers to play this game and to participate in the league, conducted by the level 1 coaches on the ground.

Female Coaching Clinic

A one-day cricket coaching clinic was organised for female students on Wednesday 22 May at the 22nd July Square in Banjul in which 150 students from 9 different schools in Banjul participated in the coaching clinic looking at bowling, batting, fielding and wicket keeping,

The essence of this coaching clinic is to refresh the female students about the game.
