Gunjur
United creative midfielder Salifu Bojang alias Bapa is a prospect in Gambian
football following his astounding performance for the Gunjur based-club in the
country’s second tier campaign.
He
started his football career with Barcelona FC in the Gunjur intermediate football tournament
before joining Red Star Family FC in the Kombo South coastal town wet season
biggest football fray in 2014.
He
guided Red Star Family FC to the 2015 Gunjur nawettan final where they lost to
Santos FC 3-0; also, he was part of Gunjur team that slipped to Serrekunda West
on penalties in the quarterfinal of the 2015 super nawettan.
He
netted Gunjur’s equalizing goal against Banjul in the 2016 super nawettan
final, played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau as South boys beat city boys
2-1 to lift their first-ever super nawettan trophy.
He
was awarded the best of player of the 2016 super nawettan following his luminous
performance in the country’s community biggest football jamboree.
He
guided Gunjur United into the country’s second division league in 2017 as Kombo
the coastal town boys defeated Greater Tomorrow 1-0 in the final played at the
Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.
Bojang
scored 13 goals for Gunjur United in the 2018-2019 second division league
season.
