Pipeline Mosque Committee presents Ramadan gifts to prison inmates

The Foundation of Pipeline Mosque Committee Thursday presented Ramadan gifts to the prisons at Mile 2, Old Jeshwang and Janjanbureh.

The presentation which took place at the Prisons Department head office at Mile, and was graced by members of the foundation and prisons officials.

Speaking on the occasion, the deputy director-general Prison Department, Thomas Jarju, said the foundation has for long been supporting the prisons.

The foundation has been helping in the rehabilitation of the inmates, and complementing the government’s efforts.

Mrs Omie Kansum Cham of the Ministry of Interior in Banjul attended the presentation ceremony, and thanked the foundation for supporting the prisons.

The president of the foundation, Alhaji Abou Dandeh Njie, said it was their responsibility as an Islamic foundation to do their quota in this way.

He thanked their sponsors, for helping the foundation to realize its objectives by sponsoring them in this endeavor, and hoped many would come forward to help.
