Peter Prom has been re-elected unopposed for another term as the president of the Gambia Table Tennis Association (GTTA) at the association’s congress held at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Friday.
Other executive members of the association are Hesham AL Turkey (vice president), Oumie Jallow (secretary), Modou Lamin Sampo Ceesay (treasurer) and Ebrima Ceesay (auditor).
In his remarks after his election as president of the GTTA, Mr. Prom thanked members of the association for re-electing him as president for another term.
He promised to take table tennis to higher heights across the country as well as to ensure The Gambia’s remarkable participation in international competitions.
The election was presided over by the executive secretary of the National Sports Council, Mamudou Max Jallow, who hailed the GTTA for their tireless contribution towards the development of table tennis in the country.
Max seized the opportunity to call on members of the GTTA to re-double their efforts, as well as wish the new executives all the best in their drive to promote and develop table tennis in the country.
The congress was witnessed by the president of the Gambia National Olympic Committee, Alhagie Modou Dibba, and members of the GTTA and table tennis clubs in the country.
