A press released issued by the United Democratic Party (UDP) has denied media reports that Mr. Pa Sainey Jallow who recently defected to the ruling APRC was a member of the UDP.
According to the release, such report was deceptive.
The release further stated that Mr. Jallow was not the contested candidate for the UDP during the last National Assembly Election in Serrekunda Central.
The release went on to state that, whatsoever reason must have catapulted to this move by Mr. Jallow, "the UDP wishes to inform the public that Mr. Jallow has never been a member of UDP."
The release added that the UDP sponsored candidate for Serrekunda Central at the last National Assembly Election was Alagie Fatty.
"The returns by the Independent Electoral Commission on nominations for candidate and results of the elections," the release added, Pa Sainey Jallow had contested the Serrekunda East National Assembly seat as an Independent Candidate.
The release finally concluded "those who follow party political activities in the Greater Banjul Area will not fail to have noticed that Pa Sainey Jallow was an interpreter for People Progressive Party (PPP) and lately NADD."
