Djurgardens top goalkeeper Pa Dembo Touray said he is extremely delighted to return to The Gambia's senior national team after 3 years absence.

The 30-year-old former Real De Banjul goalkeeper whose future with the national team nearly came to an end, following a row with the Gambia Football Association after failing to travel with the squad on an international duty was left out of the Scorpions side after he was accused of showing less commitment in the team.

Pa Dembo who arrived in Banjul on Thursday evening is currently training with the rest of the squad at the Independence Stadium in preparation of three proposed international friendlies, probably against Angola, Algeria and the African champions, Egypt in early January.

"I feel bad to watch my national team playing without me because my ambition is to always represent my country under all circumstances," the lanky goalie told Pointsport shortly after the team’s training ground on Friday.

Pa Dembo has proven to be one of the most outstanding goalkeepers in Sweden for the past few years and he is now looking forward to focus on helping The Gambia to berth a place in the next African nations and the World Cup finals.

"I don't want to think about what has past am looking forward to helping my country achieve great results because we have a formidable side full of young and amazing stars who can bring glory for the country," Pa Dembo highlighted.

The big goalkeeper who is eyeing a move to one of the top leagues in Europe revealed to this reporter that his Swedish's side are currently in negotiations with several clubs.

"As am speaking to you, I left Djurgardens talking to clubs about my future and there is a possibility of switching to one of the big clubs and if the right offer is on the table, I wouldn’t close the gate," he stated.

Pa Dembo Touray was the Captain of the Gambian side that helped the Scorpions beat Guin-Gamp one-nil in the international friendly game, played in France two months ago, courtesy of Ousman Jallow's only goal of the match from a penalty spot.
