Job
Consulting Gambia, Wednesday counseled more than thirty young people on
entrepreneurship and other related jobs at the American corner along Kairaba
Avenue. The event aimed at giving youth the opportunity to create employment
opportunities.
Lead
counsel of the TRRC, Essa Faal told the young people that in business they
should work hard and avoid taking the wrong path, adding that discipline, hard
work and luck could be great for a business.
Mr
Faal said without the rule of law, businesses will hardly prosper, advising the
young aspiring entrepreneurs that if they want to go into business, you don’t
need to look at what pleases others but they must go for their passion.
A
lawyer and a construction entrepreneur, Mr Faal advised the entrepreneurs to
look into the problems of society before starting their businesses, saying
business succeeds in a most peaceful environment.
Chief
executive officer of event management and decoration, Amie Jarjue said to be
passionate is one of the most vital things in entrepreneurship. She said
entrepreneurs should invest to the highest level because that is what will help
them to grow.
“Be
passionate enough to make sure you create quality and have your unique selling
points. Network and do not be scared to invest,” she said.
James
F Mendy, a peace activist, writer and conflict analyst said peace is far more
than the mere absence of violence, adding that an unemployed person would not
have a peace of mind with poverty.
He
said entrepreneurship and business are great contributors to sustainable peace,
while urging the government to cater for all skills education needs at grass
root levels.
