Omar Ceesay's Tourney Reaches Climax in URR

The first tournament organized by Kaba Kamma Youth and Sports Development Association (KYSDA) in the Upper River Region, has reached the semi final stages after a pulsating preliminary round that have saw four teams book their places in the semi finals. The four teams to battle it out for their place in the final are Kingston F.C, Bulanceh, Birmingham, and Pick and Choose. This is the premier football tourney organized by KYSDA in 2009.

This football showpiece is named after the influential Chairman of Basse Area Council (BAC), Mr. Omar Sompo Ceesay, who also doubles as the second Vice President Gambia Football Association GFA.

Eight teams have taken part in the tournament. The Secretary General of Kaba Kamma Youth and Sports Development Association (KYSDA), Mr. Mandu Manneh, said that four teams had already qualified for the semi finals are drawn like this, Kingston FC Vs Bulanceh and Birmingham Vs Pick and choose. According to KYSDA secretary general Mr. Manneh, the dates for the two semi finals are yet to be decided by his committee.
