Abdou Rahman Bah, the 2ndaccused in the ongoing criminal case involving him and the 1staccused Oley Sey yesterday ended his testimony under cross-examination.

In his testimony under cross examination by Lamin Camara defence counsel of the 1staccused Oley Sey, Mr Bah maintained that he was told by Oley Sey that she will invest the D500,000 in her business in Dubai so that it can yield profit and share it, but he did not put it in his statement at the NIA. He also maintained that Oley Sey told him that they can make best use of the money, but this too he did not indicate in his statement at the NIA. When quizzed further as to whether he expects the court to believe his evidence in chief, he replied in the affirmative. He said he handed over all the D500, 000 to Oley Sey in her house, adding that it was only the two of them in the house. He revealed that after he handed over the D500, 000 to Oley Sey she in turn gave him D100, 000.

When asked by defence Counsel Lamin Camara as to whether he had any proof that he handed over all the D500, 000 to Oley Sey, he replied in the positive, saying his proof was the two plastic bags containing the D500, 000 and Oley Sey's bag which she gave him to put the D100, 000. He said it was from this plastic bag that the D500, 000 was handed over to him at the presentation ceremony. As to whether he labeled the plastic bags when the money was handed over to him, he replied in the negative. He agreed under cross-examination that the plastic bags were readily available in almost all the shops. He added that almost all what he said against Oley Sey was what transpired between them.

It could be recalled that Oley Sey former nominated Member of the National Assembly and Abdou Rahman Bah the co-ordinator of Sulayman Junkung Jammah Memorial Nursery School in Abuko were alleged to have conspired and stolen the sum of D500,000 meant for the said Nursery School.
