At least four senior officials at the National Youth Service Scheme, NYSS, including the director were last week sent on leave, a move which officials said is necessary to face and address challenges at the NYSS.
“It is all geared towards putting the institution on a sound footing,’’ deputy permanent secretary Malang Jassey told The Point yesterday.
Meanwhile DPS Jassey also confirmed to The Point Saturday that Sutay Jawo, the Assistant Director of Youth and Sports has now been assigned to head the unit that trains Gambian youth and gives them skills.
