The National Sports Council (NSC) has appointed a new interim committee for the Gambia Boxing and Amateur Association.
Mr. Tamsir Sarr heads the seven-man committee.
The Executive Secretary of the National Sports Council, Mr. Alieu Cham, confirmed the appointment of the new boxing committee. He added that the committee has been given their terms of references, which commences from 4 May 2009. He revealed that the committee would serve between 6 months to one year office terms.
Mr. Cham further revealed that the task given to the committee is to register all the boxing clubs in the country, and to also organise local competitions among the existing clubs.
Mr. Cham pointed out that it is also part of the interim committee's responsibility to review the constitution of the association, and to give quarterly reports of their activities to the council.
The following people were appointed to the new interim committee: President - Tamsir Sarr, Vice-President - Alpha Camara, Secretary-General - Simon Colley, Assistant Secretary-General - Ebrima Jallow, Treasurer - Saikou Drammeh, Auditor - Salieu Jagne, and Press Officer - Pa Modou Faal.
