NISA was invited to participate by their Senegalese counterparts who are organising the competition.
“This all came about as a result of the NISA executive’s hard work and cooperation in promoting the agenda and mission of the association, which is now getting known internationally,” said NISA assistant Public Relations Officer Sulayman Badgie.
After he has written to 32 institutions, departments, and companies, the response was very positive, he said, while thanking the association for paying their registration fee of D5,000.
“The competition is very important to NISA and The Gambia as a country in the sense that, previously it was only Gambia and Senegal who were taking part in it but now Mali, Nigeria, and Guinea have also come on board,” PRO Badgie said, adding that there will be competition in three different sporting disciplines such as athletics, swimming, and fencing.
