Nigerian Principal donates to Bakau New Town LBS

A school Principal from the Lagos State in Nigeria, who is on a working visit to The Gambia, on Wednesday 24th April 2013, donated books and kettles to Bakau New Town Lower Basic School.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, which was held at the school’s ground sin Bakau, Bolong S. Sonko, an official from Basic and Secondary Education, said they are proud to receive the Principal from Nigeria, adding that the country has long time been supportive of The Gambia.

Sonko hailed the Principals from Nigeria for the gesture, adding that the books would help the school in their quest to quality education.

Fatou D. Bittaye, also from the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, applauded the donor for the gesture and urged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the donated items.

Haddy .S Njie, the Head Mistress of the school, also commended the donors for the laudable gesture, adding that the donated item would be properly utilised.

Other speakers included Oluwarotini Diadopo, who praised the Headmistress for her contribution towards the development of the school.
