The Vice President, Isatou Njie-Saidy, yesterday received at State House the new ambassador of Senegal to The Gambia, H.E. Professor Saliou Ndiaye, who presented his letters of credence.
On behalf of President Macky Sall of Senegal, Professor Saliou Ndiaye said: “I take this opportunity to convey to Your Excellency, your government and to the people of The Gambia his Excellency’s warmest greetings and willingness to reinforce the brotherhood and privileged cooperation between our two states and our two peoples.”
"It is important for both countries to maintain good relations, to find common ground and common approaches to imagine new ways to work together for the good of the Senegambian community which, by its daily actions, maintains and strengthens tirelessly the close fraternal relationship by building a better brotherhood bridge between our two nations," he said.
After paying tribute to his predecessor Ambassador Babacar Diagne, for the work accomplished during his mission, the new ambassador thanked President Jammeh and his government for the warm welcome accorded him.
