New Food Store For Fass Chamen Community

The community of Fass Chamen in Foni Bondali District of Western Region was recently the beneficiaries of a food store, which was constructed at a tune of D100, 000, by Saint Joseph's Family Farms Centre.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Mr. Yankuba Manneh, St. Joseph Family Farm Manager underscored the importance of the seed store, noting that an improved storage facility for farmers is a perquisite to management of agricultural produce.

He said with the advent of the new storage facility, farmers within the surrounding area will have the opportunity to keep their seeds for a longer period of time in an ideal condition that will minimise post harvest crop loses.

Both Mr. Pierre Gomez, the Head of the Extension Programme and Field Officer, Mariama Bojang urged the communities of Fass Chamen to make the best use of the storage facility.

Alhagie Modou Cham commended Saint Joseph's Family Farm for their timely intervention, assuring them that the store will be used by the community and its suburbia.
