As many as 586 recruits have passed out from the police training school, to join the Gambia Police Force.

At a ceremony held at Police headquarters in Banjul recently, it was announced that one of the graduates was elevated to the rank of cadet ASP and four others as corporals in community policing, following their outstanding performance during the training course.

Speaking at the ceremony, Inspector General of Police, Yankuba Sonko, congratulated the officers for successfully going through all the training modules.

He advised the officers to foster team work and consult each other for assistance when they are in a difficult situation.

IGP Sonko further advised the new police officers to be servants of the community, and not their masters.

He urged them to abide by the police force’s philosophy of honesty and loyalty to the government and the people of The Gambia.
