Momodou Darboe, the Regional Livestock Officer noted that the campaign was part of LHDP’s commitment towards protecting small ruminants and poultry birds against infectious diseases.
He said while the campaign targets project beneficiaries of Illiassa, Mbapa Marga, Daru Rilwan and Bollet Ba, in the North Bank Region, he said, vaccination would protect the animals and birds against diseases and empower farmers to increase production and productivity. He lauded the efforts of Livestock and Horticulture Development Project, LHDP for funding the vaccination campaign, noting that it would contribute to poverty reduction. He then thanked the farmers for their support and cooperation in the campaign.
Omar Nget, a farmer from Mbapa Marga praised LHDP and the Department of Livestock Services for supporting farmers in the treatment of small ruminants and birds. “The campaign would empower farmers to save resources and increase production.”
Sainey Kongira, the Livestock Assistant called on women farmers to engage in small ruminant and poultry production to enhance their incomes and contribute to poverty reduction.
