The information was disclosed to the press by Fabakary Kalleh, chairperson of the NOC, at a press conference held at the Independence Stadium on Thursday.
According to him, they are given each region D50,000 and further disclosed that the host Central River Region also promised to give eleven bulls and that they will also give each region a bull when they receive them.
Kalleh also disclosed that the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has pledged D299,000 towards the conference, which will go into logistics.
The NOC chair also disclosed that the Government of The Gambia has put in D1 million to this year’s Nayconf, while President Yahya Jammeh also donated D1.5 million as his contribution to Nayconf.
Jah Oil, he said, has also supported them with one thousand litters of fuel and also offered them water.
He added that the conference will receive seven people from each region, saying that almost all the regions have done a regional conference in consultation amongst them and identified the issues that are affecting the young people in their various regions.
He stated that they will be developing resolutions at the Nayconf as to what can be done, adding that all the other sectors will also do the same.
He said the resolution will be passed a day before the conference ends so that if they agree on the resolution they will dedicate that day to putting up a plan of action.
Kalleh said the marketing and publicity committee has done one fund-raising event at Duplex but could not raise enough money.
H thanked the people that have helped them with the marketing and also the ministries that bought tables, Amie Let who has given them the place for free of charge, and also the musicians for their support.
Under Culture and Awards, every region will put up a masquerade, he said, adding that their will also be a beauty pageant to select Miss Nayconf.
On sport, Kalleh said, they will have football, volleyball, basketball, athletics, draught and wrestling.
He said they are preparing a booklet this year that will contain all the rules and fixture and will be given to each region as a form of avoiding conflict.
On the accommodation, he stated that they have put up D46, 000 for electrification to provide 12 hours of electrification while NAWEC will also provide the other 12 hours of electrification so there will be 24 hours electricity on the campus.
He further revealed that all the regions will be hosted in the Bansang Senior Secondary School while the conference delegates will be hosted at School of Enroll Nurse (SEN).
He said the lodges in Bansang will be used for the VIPs they are inviting to grace the occasion.
He also spoke about their resolve in providing health care service, security, feeding, and transportation among others during the event.
Meanwhile, the theme for this year’s Nayconf is ‘Directing and re-orienting youth participation towards the productive sectors of the economy’ and will be held in the Central River Region town of Bansang.
