Lieutenant Ebrima Jallow, a vessel captain and commander of the Navy high speed boats, said he narrowly escaped arrest when armed soldiers invaded his Jalanbang home to arrest him.

Jallow said he was able to escape the clandestine arrest order for he was informed by a colleague that soldiers were coming to his house to arrest him for not complying with orders.

“But fortunately for me, I fled out of the country with my family before the soldiers arrive to raid my compound,” he said.

The Navy Lieutenant said he defected from the armed forces after refusing command from seniors to put up a fight with the Ecowas forces who were then due to enter The Gambia.

Lieutenant Jallow is presently in Senegal with his family.
