Narcotics officer testifies in drug case

Burama Jammeh, a narcotics officer, yesterday testified in the drug case involving one Modou Lamin Touray, who was alleged to have been in possession of prohibited drug before the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.

Officer Jammeh told the court he is attached to the NDEA head office and in June 2012, the accused was brought to his office by some personnel, informing him that the accused was arrested with some tablets.

According to him, some tablets were taken from those tablets for inspection, adding that it was taken to the national laboratory for analytical test and a report was issued.

The case was then adjourned till 6 September 2012.
