The
murder trial involving the state and one Basiru Bah came up on Wednesday 2
November 2016, before Justice Otaba Entangara Obo of the High Court in Banjul.
The
accused, Basiru Bah, was charged with the offence.
The
prosecution alleged that the accused on 10 February 2012, at Yerro Jula Village
in Kiang in the Lower River Region caused the death of one Gallo Njie by
stabbing him with a knife.
The
prosecution called five witnesses and tendered several exhibits to prove the
charge against the accused.
During
the court sitting on Wednesday, both the defence and state counsel adopted
their briefs of arguments, and the defence counsel urged the said court to
acquit and discharge the accused, whilst the state counsel, A. Yakubu, urged
the court to convict the accused accordingly.
The
presiding judge then adjourned the matter until 22 November 2016, for judgment.
