Modou Fofana, an employee of 'Multi-Pro Company limited' was recently arraigned at the Banjul Magistrates' Court, charged on two counts of store breaking and stealing.
He is alleged to have stolen items worth over half a million Dalasi. He denied the charges.
According to the particulars of the offence, on Count I, on or about the 22nd November 2008 at Gloucester Street in Banjul the accused allegedly broke and entered a warehouse belonging to one Rammoham Raghoran and committed a felony therein to wit stealing.
While in Count II, it was alleged that the accused between the months of February and December 2008, at the Gloucester Street in Banjul, stole the following items: 147 bags (25kgs) of milk powder valued at D405,000.00; 80 gallons of 20 litres cooking oil valued at D60, 000.00; 98 cartons of tomato paste valued at D34, 250, and 174 cartons of evaporated milk valued at D78, 300. 00, all totalling D577, 550.00.
Magistrate James George presided over the case.
The case was adjourned to a later date.
