The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mam Mbanyick Njie on behalf of the Minister of Interior, Ousman Sonko, who is overseeing the Ministry of Youth and Sports last Friday, presided over the presentation of three brand new vehicles to three satellite institutions under his ministry. The beneficiaries included the National Youth Service Scheme, National Enterprise Development Initiative and the Independence Stadium.
Speaking at the occasion, Permanent Secretary Njie said the vehicles would go a long way towards effective and timely implementation of the activities of the various institutions.
He thanked President Jammeh for creating the enabling environment that allows the sectors to successfully implement their set objectives, noting that youths since form more than 50% of the population, and the driving force to economic development it becomes a key to government to support institutions dealing with the development, promotion and advancement of the young people.
According to him, the vehicles will not only add value to their respective institutions, but should also help facilitate the improvement of their performance as a youth service delivery institution.
He said the ministry will not tolerate the vehicles to be used on personal purposes, and urged the beneficiaries to handle the vehicles with proper care.
Delivering the vote of thanks, on behalf of the beneficiaries, the General Manager of the Independence Stadium, Musa Njie assured the ministry that the vehicles would be put to good use.
