Modou Sowe re-elected Banjul sports chair

Banjul Sports Committee (BSC) yesterday held their congress at the BCC Chambers.

Speaking to congress delegates, the Mayor of Banjul, Samba Faal has urged the youth of the city to work hard for the development of sports in Banjul, noting that Banjul has always been a pacesetter in sports.

He called on them to remain 'the olden glories' and assured the committee of his support.

Mayor Faal commended the sports committee for the good work they have been rendering to the Banjulians for the past four years.

During the congress both Ebou Faye, the Secretary-General and Treasurer, Ousman Njie presented their reports to the congress, which were accordingly adopted by the congress.

At the end of the congress, Momodou Sowe was re-elected as the President of Banjul Sports Committee, while the following positions were occupied by Ousainou Darboe First Vice-President, Ndongo Camara Second-Vice, and Secretary-General Ebou Faye, assisted by Ebrima Garba Nyass.

Ousman Njie was elected Treasurer; Assistant Treasurer Ebrima Badjie; Landing Sanyang Public Relations Officer; Jainaba Cham and Haddy Bah are the two elected female representatives.

The election was conducted by the Assistant Director of sports Pa Suwareh Faye and Abdou Aziz Titao Mendy of the National Sports Council.
