Mobile Thief Convicted and Sentenced

One Edrisa Jarju was arraigned before Magistrate Kayode on Monday 22ndDecember 2008 at Brikama Magistrates' court for stealing contrary to section 252 of the criminal code cap 10 Vol. III Laws of The Gambia.

According to Particulars of the offence on or about the 14thDecember 2008 at Wellingara village in Kembo North, the accused stole from one Abdourahman Keita a Nokia mobile phone valued D1500.

When the charge sheet was read to him and interpreted to him in the language he understood, the Accused pleaded guilty.

He was thereby convicted and sentenced to a fine of D1000 in default to serve one -week imprisonment with hard labour.

Sgt 553 Jammeh represented the IGP.
