The victory would improve their hopes of staying in the West Coast Regional third division league.
The Brikama-based outfit came into the game with 8 points to win against Busumbala in order to recover and save themselves from relegation, after losing to leaders Brufut 2-0 in their previous fixtures.
They were however able to snatch a slender victory over high-flying Busumbala side to fancy their dreams of staying in the West Regional third tier and avoid relegation.
The victory has earned M.L Dertusa 11 points in fourteen games and are expecting to win their remaining games in order to boost their chances of staying in the West Regional third tier.
On the other hand, the defeat has dashed Busumbala’s hopes of clinching the West Coast Regional third title with 20 points fourteen games eleven points behind league leaders Brufut United, who have secured 31 points in fourteen seven points ahead of second-place Gunjur United with 24 points in fourteen games.
