Men in court for obstructing police officers

Two men were recently arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court before Principal Magistrate AK Ceesay for allegedly obstructing police officers in the due execution of their duties.

Momodou Bojang and Lamin Jassey, both residents of New Yundum, denied the charges against them, and were each granted court bail in the sum of D10,000 with a Gambian surety each.

The alleged offence stated that on 17th October 2010 at New Yundum village in the Kombo North district of the West Coast Region, Momodou Bojang and Lamin Jassey jointly obstructed Inspector Adama Secka, 1st Class 3409 Lamin Darboe, 1st Class 4038 Modou Jallow and 1st Class 3974 Adama Bah by holding Sarja Gassama, an accused person, and pulling him from Inspector Adama Secka and his men.

Hearing continues on 1st December 2010.
