Medina FC are through to the last teams of the ongoing Serrekunda East Sports Development Organisation Nawetaan League championship sponsored by Global Properties.
Medina FC made it to the quarterfinal after defeating Juventus FC by 5-4 on post-match penalty shootout, after the 90 minutes ended 0-0 at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium on 13 November 2010.
The derby game, which attracted a large crowd of supporters from Serrekunda East and its environs, showed both teams put up brilliant performance during the game but Juventus FC were the better side of the day.
Skipper Buba Sanyang, Ansari Kanteh and Alieu Ceesay all had chances to register their names on the score sheet for Juventus FC but failed to materialise their opportunities, while Lamin Saho and Matt Jagne, on the other hand, had opportunities to register their names on the score sheet for Medina FC but could not make good use of their chances, thus the game ended 0-0 resulting to a penalty shootout which ended 5-4 in favour of Medina FC.
On the same day, at the Biri-Biri football field in
Musa Njie, general manager of the Independence Stadium in Bakau, sponsored the tournament.
