The City Mayor of Feigeres in France, honorable Pierre Curtenaz and partners Alhagie Kebbeh and Mr Dam Lowe, recently made a visit to Brikama Area Council (BAC).
The delegation had a meeting with the Chairman Sunkary Badjie, who thanked them for the visit.
Governor Alhagie Lamin Sanneh expressed happiness about the visit and thanked Mr Kebbeh who hailed from Foni Bullock for his love for the people of the West Coast Region.
The CEO of BAC, Momodou Jallow, informed the delegation of the numerous projects implemented by his council, such as the first ever paved street in Brikama, scholarship packages for needy students, construction of Brikama Gidda road, Bafuluto-Brikama Road, and Wellingara Market.
Bafuluto-Brikama Road, and Wellingara Market.He also spoke on the 2011 projects plans of the council, which include strengthening waste collection, construction of Brikama Nyambai, New Yundum and Gunjur Markets, fencing of Pirang Women Vegetable Garden just to name a few.
For his part, Mr Alhagie Kebbeh thanked the management of the Council for the warm reception accorded him and partners and commended his Senegalese counterpart Mr Dam Lowe for the initiative of bringing Hon. Curtenaz to BAC.
In a brief statement, Hon. Curtenaz thanked the BAC for the warm welcome accorded him.
He gave background information of his Municipality. He expressed hope for a more future fruitful partnership between Feigeres Municipality and Brikama Area Council.
As part of the visit, Hon. Curtenaz and delegation also visited a paved road near Brikama Health Centre, Brikama main car park, youth centre and the New Wellingara market.
