Marimoo optimistic to maintain unbeaten run in 2nd Tier

Marimoo are expecting to keep their unbeaten run in the 2015-2016 Gambia Football Federation second division league they will play today against relegated side Bakau United in the week-seven fixtures at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium.

The Manjai-based outfit are currently topping the second tier, and are also unbeaten in six leagues.

Marimoo will be stretching out to thump Bakau United to grab the vital three points and also maintain hopes of gaining promotion to the top flight next season after missing first division promotion berth to Bakau giant killers Steve Biko last season.

The beach boys are struggling in the second position since the start of the league. They will be hunting to trounce Marimoo to move away from the red zone and snatch good position in the league and also avoid relegation to the third tier.

Blue Star will rub shoulders with Lamin United at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium.

The Wellingara-based outfits are mid-table and will be working hard to spank Lamin United in order to close the gap on league leaders Marimoo and second-place Brufut United.

The Lamin-based outfit are currently struggling in the second tier and have lost majority of their games. They will be fighting to beat Blue Star in order to move away from the danger zone and secure good position in the summit.

Brufut United will take on BK Milan at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda.

The Sanimentereng boys are second spot in the second tier a single point behind league leaders Marimoo and will be tailing to defeat the Bakau-based outfit to top the second tier standings.

BK Milan are mid-table in the second tier, and will be eyeing for a win against Sanimentereng in order to fancy their chances of gaining promotion to the top tier next season.

Elsewhere, Lions of Banjul will play against Red Hawks in the all-Banjul derby game at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium on the same day.

Lions of Banjul are mid-table in the second tier, and will be trying to humble Red Hawks in order to improve their position in the second tier.

Red Hawks are still struggling in the relegation zone in the second division, and will be fighting to beat Lions of Banjul to grab the maximum points and move away from the relegation zone.
