Marimoo
and Gambia Ports Authority are targeting to bounce back in the 2016-2017 Gambia
Football Federation domestic division one league after losing their week-five
fixtures at the weekend.
The
Manjai-based outfit lost to Real De Banjul 3-0 in their week-five fixtures
played at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium on Sunday; whilst the ferry boys were
beaten 2-1 by current league leaders Gambia Armed Forces at the Banjul KG5 Mini
Stadium on Saturday.
Marimoo,
who won their two opening league fixtures, will host current league champions
Gambia Ports Authority in the week-six fixtures today, Wednesday 21 December
2016, at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda.
The
Manjai-based outfit will prepare to beat Gambia Ports Authority to bounce back
in the league after losing to Gambia Armed Forces 1-0 and Real De Banjul in
order to improve their position in the league.
The
ferry boys will task to pound Marimoo to recover after losing to league leaders
Gambia Armed Forces 1-0 at the weekend to maintain their hopes of retaining
their 2015-2016 domestic division one league crown.
Real
De Banjul will welcome Bakau giant killers Steve Biko at the Banjul KG5 Mini
Stadium; Real De Banjul are single point behind league leaders, and will strive
to batter Steve Biko and hope league leaders Gambia Armed Forces slip to
Brikama United to top the league.
Steve
Biko are mid-table in the league, and will scuffle to collapse Real De Banjul
to level points with the Banjul-based club and also maintain their unbeaten run
in the league campaign.
Elsewhere,
league leaders Gambia Armed Forces will clash with Brikama United at the
Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on the same day.
Gambia
Armed Forces are currently topping the country’s top flight, and endeavour to
beat Brikama United to rejuvenate their lead in the league.
Brikama
United, on the other hand, will battle to edge-pass Gambia Armed Forces to
level with the soldiers.
