As part of their campaign to promote research oriented efforts, the Brufut Marathon Committee has registered last year 8km Female champion runner Mariama T Jallow to participate in the Cancer UK Race for life, billed for July 28th 2009 in London.

The fundraising marathon according to a press release from BMRA is meant to contribute to natural development and institutional support to Cancer Research UK that would lead to the cure of cancer.

"Today more than ever, people are doing a great deal of work on their own to help prevent or beat cancer."

BMRA is aware of the fact that this move requires concerted efforts and this is why they called on the need for Gambians to support the campaign through the BMRA to find a promising breakthrough in the prevention, diagnosis and new treatments for cancer.

The Gambia's only athlete will be making her first ever appearance at this level and the BMRA is calling on all those  who wish to support Miss Jallow and Cancer Research to  contact 9918563 or 9917638 , the sports desks at all the media houses or visit www.brufut-mra.org.
